MarkZ, Try what one of the local golf courses does. Tie some strong fishing line - monofilament line(the heaviest you can find),to some short posts positioned all around the pond. Tie it in a checkerboard pattern across the pond or wherever they like to land. The lines should be 10-15' apart and 1-2' above the water surface. When the geese try to land the first time, they will get clotheslined since they can't see the line on top of the water! Might be fun to watch the first few. I suppose you will have to tighten the lines after a few crashlandings though.
