I assume it still runs even if it needs rings. If so, $1500 is probably a good price. I know a guy that used to buy these for that price just to part out and he would make money doing it. Look at overall condition and if it runs test everything (trans, hydraulics, lights, etc). Drive it in every gear and make sure it doesn't jump out of gear. Drive it down a hill if possible (even a gentle slope). Doing that at half throttle will cause a problem tranny to jump out of gear and would indicate some money to be spent there. There are lots of places to buy parts. There are even engine kits and rings, etc available on this site. At the very top right corner of this page there is a section of links called "Market Place". Click on "tractor parts" to see what's available. There are other sources as well.
