Geesh, Leland, I guess by your definition, if one or two persons in any one group of people break the law or commit a sin, it makes everyone in that group equally guilty. I stand on everything I have ever said on the subject, and I challenge you to pull up any post in which I said that the Amish or anyone else for that matter was perfect. While their ways are far different from ours, it doesnt make them any better or any worse than anyone else. Since they in all probability have no computer or internet access, they wont defend themselves. Still that doesnt give anyone Carte Blanc to say anything anytime to totally discredit them as a group. I have dealt with them, and although they drive a hard bargain, that makes them no different than anyone else. To assert that some people are entitled to make a profit and some people arent has no redeemable value to any argument. They pay their taxes the same as anyone else with the exception of social security and medicare, but they will never accept a dime of either. They take care of their own, and that in itself is a virtue lost in our present day society. They may not be perfect, but they sure are not evil either, and for anyone to suggest otherwise is both bigoted and ill informed. When The Amish become the only people to engage in incest, child abuse, and all the other things you claim, then you have a right to single them out, but until then, it is nothing more than bigotry. Perhaps some day they will begin to drive tractors which would make them just like us. Will that then change your opinion, or would it make everyone who drives tractors guilty of the same things you claim makes them guilty because they now dont?

Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
