JD345 / JD322 / Scotts 2554

I have just come back from another JD dealer & he is getting in 2 used 300 series JDs ..
#1 - a 3 year old 345 with the 18hp water cooled Kawasaki
#2 - a 8(?) year old 322 with a 18hp 3 cyl water cooled GAS Yanmar (built with the same block as the diesel) Both are said to be in good shape - original owner & homeowner use only. Both will price out at approx $3,200+/-
The dealer said both would be excellent reliable machines... but he would lean toward the Yanmar because he said that the 300 series was even more robust back in 1991 and he figured that the Yanmar motor would go forever. I have also been looking at the Scotts 2554 Garden Tractor at $3899. This looks like one solid machine too and from this board I have learned that it is essentially a version of the previous JD GT275. What are the thoughts on which way to go?
