I think OLD ART has the right idea but the hole in the muffler is on the bottom. The cap is vented I can hear the pressure hissing out. I'll put new exaust on and get a new gas cap and see what happens. tank gets so hot I can't touch it. Yes there is a heat guard above the muffler. I don't have time for a funeral now anyway. Thanks ROC
