It is a continental engine and is the only IH tractor to run a non-IH engine. It is also the same engine that is in the 33 and 333 Massey Harris Diesel. They are a direct start non glow plug diesel that is the cheapist running engine around. I had a 33 diesel and it would run all day on a couple of gallons. New a guy who bucked hay with a 350 diesel. He bucked all day one day. At noon on the second day,he tried to put a five gallon can of fuel in it and couldn't get it all in.
