I just read the article and I can't say that I found it offensive in the least. Yes he does poke a bit of fun at the "Purist" but nothing that is insulting. He does not state his qualifications so as far as I'm concerned I will take his advice just as he reccomends as an average with the opinions expessed by others. I myself have a working tractor it looks like a rat but it does what I need most times, I use name brand modern lubricants for more than 10 years now and have had no problems because of it. I can understand if you have a rare machine that you only use for show and parades that you might want to keep it as pure as possible, but for the vast majoirty of us that own own one or more of the thousands of the high production Fords ,Farmalls,AC's,or JD's and use and abuse them his advice is right on the money. We just need a machine that will start run and work when we need it to.
