I just traded in a 1996 F-250 4x4 long box 5 speed with the 460 gas motor in it. It only had 91000 miles on it. The fuel pump in the front tank was acting up and needed to be replaced. Also the rear main seal was starting to leak. Only other problems I had ever had was an alternator 2 yrs. ago and just replaced the original battery last month. Heck of a truck! The '96-'97's are my all time favorite body style. The $9700.00 doesn't seem to bad.
