Just took the best (besides the H) tractor farmall made, added some of their newer ideas to their older tractor and made a goodun. It don't have a live PTO on it, but I have baled big round bales with it three years in a row, and last year had a guy stop and walk out in the field, look at that 5x5 New Holland baler and tell me "You know you can't pull that baler with that M with no live PTO?" Well I just looked back down the line at eight or ten bales and told him" Yeh you're probably right." and then went right on baling. Just takes a quick foot and a fast hand pulling it out of gear while it wraps. Harley

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
