1964 IH Cub Lo-Boy electrical problems

I found a problem with my wires for my headlights and spliced and wrapped a frayed wire. They worked for about 1/2 hour and I shut down the tractor for the night. The next day, the lights would not work again. I've replaced the fuse, checked the ground, looked for other frayed wires but can't seem to find anything out of the ordinary. Can anyone help and electrically ignorant mechanic?
