Sounds like a great idea to make a log cabin building with landscape timbers. I've seen some of these at the borg that are remarkably straight and uniform. A few years back I built an open front firewood shed using timberframe techniques and landscape timbers. It was all held together with wood joinery and pegs. T-111 siding. It worked well and had a nice look, but your log cabin idea sounds better.

Earthmaster Project Progress Just a little update on my Earthmaster......it's back from the dead! I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned.
