As I see it, you have 3 options, and NONE of them include towing the tractor home without a trailer. 1. You can drive it home under it's own power. 2. You can rent or borrow a flat bed car hauler type trailer. 3. You can get someone else to haul it for you If you are going to have to tow it at tractor speeds, just drive it and don't risk any of the problems associated with towing. If the tractor won't run in order to drive it, then ask around at the auction when you get it bought. I'll bet there will be several people there who would haul it home for you for very few $$. If not you can rent or borrow a trailer and pick it up a little later.
