You might try pullin' the dipstick out of 'er, drive around and get it up to temp and see if the old gal pukes out of the fill tube.

I just don't see how that vent tube could be leaking oil unless the case is being pressured up in some strange way or else we have a converter drain-back thing going on, in which case it should exhibit a no-move condition for a minute or two at cold start.

You didn't mention a "tranny light", so I'm assuming the transmission works okay?

It almost sounds as if the two halves of the pump are loose, but one would think that this would drop the line pressure.

One more time: are you ABSOLUTELY SURE it is leaking from the vent tube?
