Ford is a ggod choice. The problem with anything other than Ford or JD is parts availability. Al the other makes have been combined into AGCO and thear aren't as many dealers. I would figure on spending closer to $4000 to get what you want and get a 600 or 800 Ford. Live hydraulics optional PS and live power some come with loaders. You can find good ones that would be needing work for this much. Don't get Selecto-SPeed trans. If you can stand a little more $get a 72 and up 2000 or 3000 Ford. Better tractor yet. Go to FOrd board to learn more. Shop around and you could get a bargain.
