2 grand will be something of a limitation, depending on how much repair work you are willing to do at the outset. Certainly a loader tractor for 2k will be a project; I am partial to Fords although pound for pound, hp is cheaper by getting an Allis or Farmall. Depends on what you really need to do. I find a ford N to be very handy for a wide variety of things, whereas a larger Farmall or Allis would be better for dedicated field work, brush hogging etc.
