John Deere 1010

I'm looking at buying a JD 1010 yellow model tractor that is supposedly a 1968 4cy. 5 spd but I don't know PTO horsepower or how reliable this model is. Number on engine metal plate is 1010 W 21567. Can anyone provide info on tracing this serial # to confirm age and horsepower, etc. Thanks, Wayne
