Resistive leads (carbon fibre) would work just as well (better from interference point of view). Depends really whether you want it like original.
I have magneto-powered sparks on my tractors, so they must have the copper cored leads without suppressor plug caps.
Coil systems are more "forgiving" as long as an electronic system is not installed - as these units will often have so much spark energy that they will destroy the carbon fibre leads in short time.
