1964 ford ring and pinion adjustment

I have a 1964 Ford 21201(all purpose) gas tractor
that I must replace the ring and pinion in. I have the matched set of gears, but I cannot find a means of adjusting the mesh (alignment) of the ring and pinion. No shims or crush collar on original setup, none listed in parts manual.This is the 2nd set of gears in less than a year,(not including the original set) so something must be wrong. The wear pattern doesn't look right on the set that I removed. New pilot bearing on previous pinion, new carrier bearings for ring gear. Any help on this problem will be greatly appreciated.
