Good point Gene. Target hasn't stopped any of us from taking out our checkbooks and helping those less fortunate. What they have eliminated is the fanfare and public display accompanying the handful of change going to the kettle. If you think you need bells, bright lights and an audience of hundreds of shoppers to accomplish a miniscule charitable act, perhaps you should re-examine your charitable motivation.
