I didn't ask if you'd led the perfect life. I asked if you obeyed the law. I can obey the law, and still be far from leading a perfect life. There's a great difference. And yes, I know the Bible's been translated a number of times, and I know that "a bunch of guys" are scholars. In fact, if you look at the King James, the NASB, the Open Book, you'll see a lot of nuance in the use of language. But as long as someone is interpreting what someone else said there are going to be mistakes. Words are interpreted dependent upon their context. So if someone doesn't get the context correct, they won't get the translation of the word correct. And if men are interpreting the word of God, how can they be guaranteed they hear and understand the context correctly? What gives these men better understanding than you or I? Nothing, other than they may have been smarter than us. But my point is that interpretation of the word of God is open to errors. Unless God spoke to these men in English and not Hebrew, there is always going to be room for error. God's word is not in error, just how we read it.
