That's why your local 'equipment jockey's' tractor cost more than the one from Canada. I import and resell all the time. If I sell to someone local, or semi local I expect to have to do some warranty work. That means I have to build in some extra profit. After all, I am in business to make money not provide a tractor delivery service. A 2000 mile haul would have cost you $4000 plus a 20% comission on the purchase if you sent me to buy for you. If you buy it off the lot that plus cost of the warranty (or the repairs, yes I've had head gaskets blow starting them on the trailer, in fact had an injector pump fail on the trailer this week coming off the farm where I bought it)is built into the price. I've also gone to Canada and bought tractors for people. A 2000 mile haul would have cost you $4000 plus a 20% comission on the purchase if you sent me to buy for you. Basic economics dictates that risk brings rewards but also RISK of loss.
