That is JD's SCL type gear lube. SCL stands for sulfur clorine lead. I think the lead is why you can't buy it anymore last I bought was in the 80's That very well could be the original oil. That stuff is VERY good at protecting from rust as it will creap around and coat everything.I love to buy a tractor with that stuff in it as they usually end up having very good transmissions,I saw this many a time back when I was parting out a few in the 80's and 90's
