Hi Kraig, I assume that this tractor is a 12x12. That cable is an interlock for the shuttle lever, so that the clutch must be disengaged before you can shift into gear. Just do the normal inspections of everything, springs, levers, etc. If it's gone bad since a while, you will likely need a new pressure plate, and the flywheel will have to be cut. If the engine has a leaky rear seal, change that now, renew the pilot and release bearings, and you should be good to go. The only other problem that I am aware of is with the slave cylinder. There is the occasional one that leaked and needed to be replaced. That is obvious as the clutch won't disengage. Not the problem here. The biggest cause of clutch failure is the boot that's glued to the pedal all day. Under normal service and shifting (no loader) that clutch should last 10000 hours. Even a loader tractor should get 5000 hours. HTH. Rod
