For something built between 1923 to 1953 and intended to burn the stuff oil refineries considered useless. They do pretty good.
The short wheelbase and short wide tires are intended to pull best on loose soil in a field. A rowcrop with a longer wheelbase and tall narrow 38" dia rims do better on hard tracks.
