I would guess that your carb float has stuck open and you have a bunch of raw gas in your engine oil. Not good, but hopefully it has caused little damage if you haven't run it too long. It is time to change the oil and start closing the fuel valve when the tractor is sitting unused. It is not too unusual for the Fords to do this, with the tank above the engine. At worst, a whole tank of gas will drain into the engine and the oil/gas mixture will be running out of the dipstick hole onto the floor. I suppose it would be possible for the engine to become hydraulically locked if ring seal was that good and the flow was fast enough. In my personal experience, the flow is quite slow, but if the tractor is not used for some time, a lot of gas can accumulate in the crankcase. Ford put the fuel tank valve there for a reason.....I learned to use mine the same way you are. Good luck!
