We had an Aerostar van (Same engine as Ranger) that had almost 200,000 when we traded it away. We never touched the engine, it didn"t use or leak a drop of oil. I don"t know if it makes a difference, but it burned ethanol for all but 3 tanks. We traded it for a 2000 Explorer. 107,000 miles later, the engine still goes strongly. I think it"s had nothing but ethanol, but I don"t know. We bought my truck from the son of my great-great uncle. He never got over 60. We had a few problems, a mechanic said the engine had no vacuum, and it needed replaced. I"ve put 50,000 on it, and it still runs good.
