Here is aPDF file that shows 2003 land rents in a handy map of each county of SD. A little more searching on Google will find you a lot more info. http://www.nass.usda.gov/sd/releases/rent03. pdf $30 might be about right in some areas. You also consider what rocking the boat will do - if you have a good stable relationship with a renter now, that might be worth something too. 15 years with no change is a long time, you might to collect 1/2 in March, 1/2 after harvest. Perhaps a 10% increase too if your area supports more rent. Where I live rent has gone from $90 to $150 around me, so it's hard to relate to $30. :) Talking to a SD extension agent would help you determine things too, more local & up to date. --->Paul
