There've been some good suggestions offered here, so I won't add anything but to say go for it. I did the same thing myself at a few days shy of 20, back in 1957, leaving college because grades were so bad I was afraid to go home after the spring semester. I learned a lot about life that year, and did go back to college a year later. One piece of advice, though...make sure what you're going TOWARD is not worse than what you're getting away FROM. Unfortunately, the only way you'll find out is to "just do it", as they say in the Nike ads. You'll do fine, just have an open mind, listen more than you talk, and give your boss a little more than he's paying you for.
