I just rebuilt the motor on this tractor, and after firing it up I noticed a small water leak on the front of the motor. I shut it down and found a weap hole next to one of the larger bolt holes on the water pump, I pulled the pump off and there is a passageway that goes in to the timing cover. I asked several different mechanics at our local dealer and knowbody knew what it was for.but all agreed its on all the Kubota water pumps. The only thing that makes sence to me is its an idicator of a bad o-ring on the water outlet tube on the front of the block. Does this make sence to anyone if that o-ring goes, and there was nowhere for that water to go it would blow out the timing cover gasket and head for the oil pan. The books arent that clear and I dont speak japenees.
