I looked at a 1968 MF2135 this weekend. Could someone help me with the following questions: 1. What's the difference between the 135/2135 industrial? (gas engine) Who makes the gas engine and was it good? 2. The 2135 did not have a remote hydraulic setup. It does have a three point so it has the pump. The question is: can I easily add remotes? 3. It has a loader with a crankshaft pump. Is this model a heavy lifter? 4. It has 7000 hours on it (ouch). Given that he wants $4,500 for it, is this too much money or do you think that an MF135/2135 with any amount of hours on it is worth it? I'd rather pay $4000 or less. 5. I am using it to replace a larger AC D17 6 cyl diesel industrial with a more powerful loader (6 foot bucket vs the MF 5 foot) but no 3 point, just counterweights. I like the D17 but every time I get on it I have to repair something. Now it's the power steering. Is the 2135 too light to replace the D17? Is this a dumb idea? Other notes: The power steering did not work well. The engine idled smoothly but is leaking some oil on the lower gaskets. The motor did not appear to be smoking. Diff lock was sticky but appeared to work. Good rubber. 3 point worked but could not be tested for capacity. I couldn't get it on a road to test the clutch in a high gear. Engine oil dirty. New loader hoses. Has a shuttle clutch that appeared to grind gears if shifted when the tractor was moving (is it designed that way?) Thanks in advance for your knowledge. Keep tractorin'
