I don't actually have any experience with Fords. My dad used to have a Ford in his younger years. From what I've heard, the engine literally blew up. Later on, he bought a '79 GMC High Sierra 15 Heavy Half-Ton, nearly new. From what I've heard, the only major repair put into it was a new timing chain. It's a tired old truck, but still runs quite well. Not bad for about 250,000 miles. Dad also owns a '94 GMC 3500 1-ton crewcab (bought it in '96). A great truck. This is just my opinion, but GMCs and Chevys are my prefered trucks.
