email reply notification gone haywire?

This morning I logged on and found 2 spam emails. Deleted them and moved on to something else for about 10 minutes. Then I checked email again and found 4 ytmag reply notices. When I looked at them, there were no new replies since last night. Has anyone else had the email reply system cry wolf at you?
