Butcher, I sure am sorry to hear it, and best of luck. I sure loves my dogs, and breaks my heart when see them having problems. My boy, Lou's been licking the pads too, and we'll see what the vet says. I've got no children, and that's my boy. Whatever I can, that's my boy. I didn't even think about it until this post, he likes to lay under the tractors, and the Deere leaks a little diesel from time to time, so maybe. And the spot on his back is about where he gets greased up from time to time. Will call the vet tomorrow, is worth a shot. As far as diabites goes, I'm not sure what to suggest. Like my collie-shepard, when quit eating, he would eat steak. The vet said, "Steaks full of protien and bad for him, but the alternative's starving, so feed him steak". He lasted 3 more years than was supposed to. Maybe try the boiled hamburger and rice? May not be good for diabites, but some nutrician until the vet can take another look is better than nothing. Good luck with that lab, they sure are good dogs. Mark
