I think you should let it go. If the guy is a friend he maybe have been looking out for you. For example; He told the guy working on your tires" this guy is a friend of mine and he likes to have things done right the first time so do a damnd good job with his tires." Or, maybe he said "This guy is going to pi$$ and mone no matter what you do so lets really screw him". I think you got a good deal and a good friend in the tire bussiness.
