I have used just an old fashioned hand crosscut saw - pretty straight lines - not a lot of effort - not a great deal of mess - when you have pieces that thick it might be kind of like slicing bread and you might have a little problem with keeping the line straight all the way through - setup a jig or something - or sandwhich the piece of styrofoam between a couple 2x4's where you want the line to be....
