The magnetic heater is only good for heating aircooled single or two cylinder engines. Or warming the oil enough to pump & flow in a emgine with sump capacity of about 12 quarts. As previously stated, if the engine getting hit directly with winter winds. That wee heater is working in vain. I"ve also burned my fingers a few times reaching under the engine to remove one of them or to feel for heat in the oil pan. Nothing beats a frost plug heater on both sides of a V6/V8 engine. Or a PROPERLY installed 1000-2000W external tank heater.You can put a shut off valve in the line for summer use if you feel the need.
