I drove from the NY/PA border to Tampa and back earlier this month. Took Rt. 81 to Rt. 77 (Charlotte) to Rt. 85 (Atlanta) to Rt. 75 (Tampa area). Same way back. Because I'm interested in trucks in general, I kept watch: Fords outnumbered GM products almost 2-1. Dodges distant third. There are good and bad in all of them, but one day I asked a guy who owns a NAPA store (third generation) which brand in his opinion wins the "truck wars." His reply--"You'll never make a living selling parts for Ford trucks." He then went to his computer screen and showed me his inventory over the last six months. His bottom line? There are more Ford trucks out there than any other brand but he sells nearly 40% fewer parts for Ford trucks.
