MPM, I will add my $.o2, Go and see it, hear it run, Drive it. And be prepared to drive home with an empty trailer. Ya'll can go over to the tractor photos and see my ol 966. Even though I got it from a repitable IH dealer over 350 (one way) miles from me. Pulled a 25 ft dovetail trailer. Tandem with 10,000 lb axles. It pulled like a Lead Sled, empty! I was prepared to come home empty if I didn't think it was what it was billed to me. This trip also involved one night in a motel, plus eats for my wife and I (before kids) So any thing up to 200 to 250 miles can be done on a daytrip senario. Get up early and be gone by 4:30 or 5 you can be at you destination by 9:00 or 9:30 . 30 to 45 minutes to make up your mind and your back home by dark. With no problems. So again go see it, Hear it run,Drive it. If at all possible and with in 300 to 350 miles. If farther than that maybe some of us who are close to thes rigs could take a look see for others, just a thought. Or the seller should send a full roll of pics to you if you ask. Hope this helps. Later, John A.

From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
