craigg- the number is either on the flange of the fly wheel housing near the starter mount or on later trac. on a pad on the front right of the cylinder block-- If you have any more prob. get in touch If your happy with the major let me know I know where there is a late model power major in excel cond. for sale-- it needs only an ign switch- if you know where i can get one please let me know- it doesn"t work mostly from non use this tractor has been used very little BLW
