I guess it depends on what "private" is. If you confide in your boss that you're getting drunk over your lunch hour, yeah it can and will be used against you. Or if you "confide" in you wife that you think her younger sister looks hot that too will be used against you. Courts have long ruled on the "expectation" of privacy, in your house, on the toilet, so on.... To reach outside your home and visit a kiddie porn website, or a site with bomb building basics for Islamics living in the belly of the Great Satan will results in some guys in suits showing up at your home with a WARRANT to search your computer harddrive. You had privacy in your home, not the world wide web.
