If the brake lights work without blowing a fuse that eliminates a problem to the rear lights. If it will work for a time have someone hit the brakes and see if the left is dimmer than the right if not check if the front turn signal is dimmer on the left.Try a new bulb.BTW put grease in your trailer plug, stops corrosion and you can get it apart.
