I don't remember exactly how a 444 is set up, but it is a British tractor, so it's probably similar to my B-275 and B-414. If so, there is a sort of fifth glowplug in the dashboard. It is hooked in series with all the rest of the glow plugs. If any plug is bad, none of them will work. When all is working, the "glow-plug" in the dashboard will glow red at the same time the glow-plugs in the engine are hot. My IH BD144 engine takes Champion #155 glow plugs. I bought them from NAPA.
