the owner of the fairgrounds does more than just sit back and coolect checks, she also sees to the day to day operations and acts as a secretary of sorts.According to her,and the contract that was signed, the club was responsible for its own insurance while on the fairgrounds. This point was made clear to OUR secretary, but as I said she was lazy and cared little about doing here job right.the judge ruled for the fairgrounds because of this contract and stated that we,the members should have made our tractors nonoperational suring this event since the ywere in a building.(I always remove a battery cable even at shows where I feel comfortyable leaving it sitting, and I love to see kids get up and sit on it)The Dad,although held responsible, got off pretty easy in the fact niether of the two families sued him,and the judge ordered him to pay the funeral expences for those two people, and repair the building. The judges final comment to the man was something like,"You messed up,now youre going to pay for that,no big deal. But youll be the one who has to live with the fact that your lack of knowledge of old farm equipment, and carelessness has cost two people their lives, youll have to live with that!"
