rotton robert did a good job with explaining what could be wrong. the column is fairly simple if you take your time and have the right tools. the center of the steering wheel pops off. take the nut off and then you need a steering wheel puller. then you need a press that screws on the center shaft to push the plate down to remove the snap ring on the shaft. remember what order you pulled parts off in. the lever will seperate from the switch once your in there. the switch is held on by three screws. the hardest part is "fishing" the wire up and down the column. i have always removed the hard shell connector to pull the wires through. a coat hanger works well. the multifunction switch is not your wiper or cruise problem though. good luck, casey in SD
