I posted over on the combines and harvesters forum but thought this might be a better place as it seems there is a little more "traffic" over here. I am looking for a hay swather to use as a power unit to build a large lawn mower. I am talking 18 foot of cut lawn mower. I know absolutely nothing about swathers. The only thing I do know is they are sometimes found with diesel engines, and hydrostatic transmissions. I have looked around a bit but there is not much out there on used swathers. I cannot find any specs anywhere for used swathers. I need at somewhere between 50-70 horse and diesel powered. Hydrostat is also a must. I would like a fairly trouble free machine with a good track record. I do not need the head unit just the rest of the machine. What are some good units that are out there? Which ones should I stay away from? What kind of price should I expect to pay? Thanks Jaker
