Wise man speak truth......now you wouldn't be punnin me about my thread concerning using my impact tool to torque my heads are you? Har Har. For what it's worth, I calibrated the thing with a wrench first. Cleaned up all bolt threads and lubed them. Then ran them down and watched them stop turning then the prescribed number of whacks (at 100 psig regulated) and that was that. I did buy some Mobil 1 at Wallyworld (brand new listing for them) rated 5w 40 with the CI-4 and SJ service ratings. Says it's made for trucks and suv engines including the strokers. I certainly agree with your comment about regardless of what people say, we do what we want anyway.....just looking for someone else to agree. Grin See ya, Mark

Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
