I'm confused about McCulloch. Are they starting up again? Lately I was in a Home Depot and saw some McCulloch tools. Like you, I have their saws- 4 of them, biggest is a model 800. Have you determined why yours doesn't run? No spark- compression- fuel? If you take out the spark plug and put some gas in the cylinder, then replace the plug, will it fire? Last fall my 20+ year old bread and butter 650 wouldn't start, but when I put a little gas in the cylinder it would fire a few seconds. For some reason it wasn't getting gas- lost its prime. I got to thinking about it and decided to try something. If I could somehow pressurize the gas tank for a couple seconds it might prime the carb. Not thinking of any other easy way to do this I took off the gas cap and put my mouth to the mostly full tank and put pressure to it for a few seconds. To my surprise after that it fired right up! Unfortunately I let the first tankful run out and had to do basically the same thing to get it going again- now I won't let it run out of fuel.
