I have pulled 5-14 with a JD 830 which has similar bhp with no problems. I also pulled 5-16 in hard soil and it was quite a load. To get it to work, we had to put on seven sets of wheel weights. Really too much load in that soil. I have pulled both an 18ft and 21ft disc. The 21 ft would be way too much in plowed ground, but was marginally ok when discing stalks. The 18 ft was a better fit. An 18 ft disc is just "OK" in plowed ground, a 16 ft would be perfect. I have a 14 ft JD BWA disc and it was too small, matches a lot better with my JD 730.
