Don't mean to stir thing up here -----but--- Try buying new balers, haybines , rakes, tractors etc.and then try to pay for them by selling hay as cheaply as most buyers want to pay. Years ago, I wanted to replace my NH 268 baler ($2300 new, hay $20./ton), new JD 337 at nearly $20,000 and hay $60./ton. You do the math!Just remember that GOOD hay is the cheapest feed any animal will need.We are nearly the only ones producing horse hay in our area now as others have found it much easier to produce soys and wheat.
