Up here in Minnesota they deliver #2 diesel / heating fuel all year around unless you ask for something different. For the engines you need a lot of additives or some #1 when it gets below 20 degrees. For the furnace most folks burn #2 all winter. I do. A few with outdoor storage need some #1 mixed in so it flows through the filter. But, up here heating fuel = #2 diesel unless you ask for different. Diesel fuel technically has some additive in it for the injectors, and heating fuel would not need those. But nearly every supplier doesn't want a seperate bulk tank & supply lines, it is cheaper to just handle #2 diesel as both engine fuel & heating oil. Same stuff. --->Paul
